Former lifeguard Mark Bridger, 47, has denied three charges, including the five-year-old's murder and abduction following her disappearance in Machynlleth, Powys, on 1 October.

April's parents, Coral and Paul, were at the hearing at Mold Crown Court.

The trial date was set for 25 February, and it is expected to last four weeks.
