Salmond: Independent Scotland 'in favour' of EU membership
Scotland does not have the same "agonising debate" as the rest of the UK over EU membership as the "balance of opinion" is for the country to become an independent EU member, First Minister Alex Salmond has said.
He added that it would breach the European Union's "fundamental principles" if an independent Scotland were not granted EU membership.
