May 2014 promise on Edinburgh trams

Council leaders in Edinburgh have said passengers will be using the city's new tram line by May next year or earlier.

They have also promised that all construction work caused by the trams will be cleared from the capital's streets by the middle of October.

The tram project has cost £776m over the original budget and is years behind schedule.

BBC Scotland's transport correspondent David Miller reports.
