90 years of the BBC in Scotland

On 6 March 1923 the BBC in Scotland made its first radio broadcast.

An orchestra, pipe band, choir, solo singers, actors and speech-makers squeezed in to a small attic on Bath Street in Glasgow.

To mark the 90th anniversary we have unearthed one of the first TV programmes to be broadcast by the BBC in Scotland.

Watch 'On View' featuring performances from Gwyneth Guthrie, John Carlin, Ann Gudrun, Jimmy Logan and music by The Neville Houghton Quintet, Jimmy Shand and his band.
