Vince Cable: 'I want to put a stop to in-fighting'

The Business Secretary, Vince Cable, has said that he continues to back Nick Clegg as Liberal Democrat leader and that the in-fighting in the party needs to end.

On Wednesday his close ally, Lord Oakeshott, resigned from the party after being criticised for commissioning and leaking polls that suggested Mr Clegg would lose his Sheffield seat in the general election.

Mr Cable told the BBC's Martin Patience: "I am supporting the party leader".
