Labour's plan for increase to minimum wage

Ed Miliband has promised any future Labour government would raise the minimum wage in line with average earnings.

The Labour leader says there needs to be a clear link between the two so that everyone can share the benefits of an economic recovery.

The minimum wage is due to increase in October by 19p an hour to £6.50.
