Clegg: Conservatives 'elevated petulance' over Europe
Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg has described the Conservatives attitude towards the European Union as 'an elevated form of petulance'.
Speaking on The Andrew Marr Show ahead of the forthcoming European elections, Mr Clegg said there was a: "phoney war within the Conservative party, which is now being papered over by this arbitrary timetable of holding a referendum in 2017".
Clarifying the Liberal Democrat's position, he said: "We are in for reform, but you cannot win an argument unless you're in the argument. You cannot win the argument in Europe unless you're in Europe. It's as simple as that."
