Labour conference: Ethical foreign policy and wars

Labour spoke of an "ethical foreign policy" when it was last in opposition, but then sent British troops to conflicts in Kosovo, Sierra Leone, Afghanistan and Iraq during its 13 years in power.

David Thompson looks back at Tony Blair's Chicago speech in 1999 and questions whether theories devised out of office survive when a party gets into office.

He spoke to former Foreign Secretary Jack Straw and Prof Michael Clarke, Royal United Services Institute director.
