Michael Gove on new out-of-school powers for headteachers
Michael Gove announced a power for headteachers to allow them to enforce discipline outside schools and give them the powers to act "anytime, any place, any where".
The education secretary said the power was to be used at the "headteacher's discretion", and give them the freedom to decide when to act.
He also told the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham it was time to stop teaching children like adults and adults like children.
