Gerry Adams arrest: War of words 'not helping peace process'
A "war of words" over the arrest of Gerry Adams has been profoundly unhelpful to the peace process, Alliance MP Naomi Long has said.
She told the BBC: "It's very clear Gerry Adams offered to help the police with their enquiries, I think it's now slightly rich of Sinn Féin to complain that the police have taken him up on that offer."
Mr Adams was arrested on Wednesday over the 1972 murder of Jean McConville.
Police have until 20:00 BST on Sunday to release or charge the Sinn Féin leader.
