Olympic cauldron firm wins top award

The company that built the cauldron used at the opening ceremony of the London 2012 Olympic has received the highest award for British businesses.

Stage One, based at Tockwith, near York, has been awarded the Queen's Award for Enterprise in recognition of ten years of "continuous innovation".

The honour was presented to the company that made Thomas Heatherwick's design, featuring 204 copper petals, by the Lord Lieutenant for North Yorkshire Lord Crathorne.
