Delays over 999 police reaction times

Police are taking up to 20% longer to react to emergency 999 calls in parts of the North East, the BBC has learned.

A Freedom of Information request revealed that more minutes have been added to the time it takes for a squad car to arrive at an accident or crime scene in the Durham and Northumbria force areas over the past year.
