Council leader hails Labour success as Hastings majority grows

The council leader for Hastings has praised the work of his Labour colleagues as the party added to its majority in the town.

Jeremy Birch said the results showed the party had the "majority of the popular support" in Hastings which he described as "promising".

Labour now has 24 councillors in the council, compared to the 23 it had before, with the Conservatives holding the other eight seats.
