Soldiers returning from Afghanistan have exercised their rights to march through Sheffield.

The Chestnut Troop of the 1st Regiment of Royal Horse Artillery were awarded the freedom of the South Yorkshire town in 2002. It has recently returned from a tour of Helmand Province.

The parade of 250 soldiers, including the Kings Troop Royal Horse Artillery and the Band of the Royal Artillery, began with the firing of a light field gun on Devonshire Green before a march to Barkers Pool in the city centre.
