Schmallenberg vaccine 'does work', says Wantage farmer

An Oxfordshire sheep farmer has spent £6,000 on vaccinating his flock after his ewes were infected with the Schmallenberg virus last year.

David Barber, from Wantage, says the vaccine is working, even though two of his lambs have still contracted the disease.

The National Sheep Association said the disease was here to stay.
