Spot Ofsted checks on 'underperforming' Norfolk schools

A team from education watchdog Ofsted has started work in Norfolk to find out why schools in the county appear to be lagging behind the rest of the country.

Latest figures show that only 54% of pupils attend secondary schools which are rated good or better compared to the national average of 71%.

For primary schools the figure is 63%, compared to the national average of 74%.

Ofsted teams are now making snap checks on 24 schools in the county.
