Sophie Jones: Teenager cancer death prompts campaign

A family from Wirral has begun a campaign to lower the screening age for cervical cancer after the death of their 19-year-old daughter.

Sophie Jones from Eastham died on Saturday after she was diagnosed with the disease in November.

Her mother Peri Cawley said medical professionals told her Sophie was too young to have contracted the illness, which is rare in women under 25.

Currently, women in England aged 25 to 64 are invited for screening.
