Two men detained for 'racing' car crash injuries in Bolton

Two Bolton men, one of them a banned driver, have been detained for seriously injuring two people while "racing".

Furqaan Mohmed, 21, and Mohammed Patel, 20, hit another car and struck a 12-year-old boy and a man, 50, on St Helens Road, Daubhill on 21 July.

Mohmed was jailed for two years and eight months, at Bolton Crown Court.

Patel was sent to a young offenders' institution for three years and 10 months but will serve the remainder of his sentence in an adult prison when he reaches 21.

Both men admitted causing serious injuries by dangerous driving.
