Jail fears of 'contempt' abuse victim
A victim of domestic abuse who said she risked being jailed for contempt after refusing to provide her address in court has seen her case concluded.
Eve Thomas said she defied Bolton County Court rather than risk her abusive ex-husband finding the location of her safe house.
When the court ruled she owed money to a former friend and asked for the address, she withheld it.
The matter has now been settled at the Manchester Civil Justice Centre, where a friend paid the £1,000 debt.
