High rents 'forcing people out of Brixton'
For the first time, the average house price in London has reached £500,000.
It could be a sign of a turn-around in the economy, although high prices and high rents are also threatening to drive people out of the capital.
Sergio Lopez Figueroa, from the Let Down campaign, said the gentrification of the south London area of Brixton was forcing people out, while some residents have welcomed the change.
BBC London also spoke to Alex Loftus from King's College London who said the area had transformed in a relatively short space of time.
