Leicestershire police officers get mental health training

Front-line police officers in Leicestershire are being trained to deal with emergency mental health care in the hope it will save lives.

Chief Constable Simon Cole said: "Often we can save lives just by the way a police officer talks to somebody."

The courses are designed to ensure members of the public have 24-hour access to mental health help and could soon be used by forces across the country.
