Rossendale's Dr Ice on the 'daredevil mindset' needed for skeleton

Kristan Bromley, also known as Dr Ice, is in training to try and claim his first Olympic medal next year - despite turning 40.

The skeleton racer, from Rossendale in Lancashire, travels at speeds of up to 90 miles an hour in his event, which requires a "daredevil mindset".

Bromley took top spot in the skeleton at the world championships in Altenberg, Germany in 2008.

The 2014 Winter Games will be held in Sochi, Russia.
