Thanet Green Party councillor Ian Driver wants cannabis cafe

Plans to open a cannabis cafe in Kent have been proposed by Thanet Green Party councillor Ian Driver - who admits he has taken illegal drugs himself.

He has put forward the idea as part of a campaign for a relaxation of the drugs laws.

Cannabis cafes, where the drug can be consumed legally, are popular in Amsterdam but it remains an illegal drug in the UK.

BBC South East Today reporter Peter Whittlesea spoke to Councillor Ian Driver, cannabis user Oli Genn-Bash, and David Raynes, of the National Drugs Prevention Alliance.
