Kent mink eradication will help water vole return
A project to eradicate the American mink from an area of north Kent has been given the go-ahead and £100,000 funding.
Many experts see American mink as a pest that is wreaking havoc on native wildlife, in particular the endangered water vole.
Chloe Sadler, of Kent Wildlife Trust, said there were still water voles in small pockets of the target area, but it was hoped numbers could grow without competition from the mink.
