M.I.A. causes festival invasion at Big Chill Festival

A performance at the Big Chill festival had to be abandoned - after hundreds of fans pushed onto the stage.

One of the headline acts - M.I.A. -- had to cut short her set.

The Sri-Lankan-born rapper invited people to join her on stage for her hit 'Paper Planes', made famous by the film Slumdog Millionaire.

But up to 200 people climbed onto the stage, causing the crowd to surge forward.

One fan, Louise, said they were crushed against the railings and couldn't breathe at one point and another described the crowd as "out of hand".

The festival organisers say the artist apologised for ending the set early and no one was badly hurt.
