Southampton to host remembrance festival

Plans for what it is hoped will be the biggest remembrance festival in England outside London have been announced.

All the army bands in the south of England will converge on Southampton's Guildhall on 8 November.

They will join the city's Philharmonic Choir in a tribute to the armed forces and their families.

It will be compered by the Southampton football legend Matthew Le Tissier, who - like all those taking part - will be giving his services for free to raise money for the Royal British Legion.
