Billericay nursery manager denies child cruelty
A nursery manager denied a charge of child cruelty relating to an investigation into the treatment of children in Essex.
Emma Panting, 49, formerly of Wickford, also pleaded not guilty to two charges of common assault and a racially aggravated public order offence during an appearance at Basildon Magistrates' Court.
She is due to appear at the town's crown court during the week beginning 7 July.
Ms Panting gave her address in court as Woodbridge, in Suffolk.
Nursery worker Rosie Dunn, 24, of Prower Close, Billericay, also appeared in court to deny a charge of racially aggravated public order.
Ms Dunn's next hearing at Basildon magistrates is on 28 July.
