Elliot Gower family told drugs will cost thousands
A Bournemouth family who raised £60,000 for an operation to help their son stand independently have been told he needs drugs that will cost hundreds of thousands of pounds.
Elliot Gower, seven, was born with cerebral palsy and haemophilia and will need the drugs after the operation to cope with his condition.
The surgery was initially being done privately and therefore the NHS would not fund the cost of the drugs.
But now NHS England has told the family they are considering paying for the operation.
