Footage of 1933 Boscombe summer carnival unearthed

Footage from 1933 showing a carnival in Dorset has been unearthed - ahead of the event's revival on Sunday.

Film collector Terry Burnett, from Fareham, Hampshire, discovered the footage of Boscombe summer carnival in his personal collection.

The grainy film shows the carnival queen as well as people enjoying a funfair and parade.

Ken Vivian, from Ferndown, Dorset, was seven years old when he went to the 1933 event and was tracked down by the BBC to see the footage for the first time.

This year's carnival on Sunday will be the first for several years.
