Car plunge diver says 'we failed'
A mussel diver who tried to save a woman trapped in a car which plunged off a ferry slipway in south Cornwall has said he feels like he failed her.
Matt Vernon dived down to try to save the woman who became trapped in the car in the River Fal on Wednesday afternoon.
It happened at the King Harry Ferry crossing point on the Roseland Peninsula, near Truro.
The driver escaped unhurt but the female passenger, who has not yet been identified, died at the scene.
