Snowdrops encounter winter woes on Exmoor

A part of Exmoor, dubbed Snowdrop Valley, which attracts thousands of visitors may have to delay its opening because of the recent cold weather.

Snow is still causing headaches for the Snowdrop Valley team.

On the event's website, it said: "Due to recent heavy snowfall, all access to the valley is blocked by fallen trees.

"No visitors should try to access the valley by any means until all the routes have been made safe and cleared."

Nic Wigley, the event's co-ordinator, said: "Four trees have come down. It's all got to be made very safe. It's probably still quite unstable at the moment."

Snowdrop Valley usually opens for a month at the beginning of each February.
