New Cumbria factory opens bringing jobs

A manufacturer said it hoped to create about 70 jobs in West Cumbria with a £3.5m investment in a new factory.

TIS Cumbria, which manufactures items for use in the nuclear decommissioning process, has opened its new plant in Workington.

The business was started from scratch by two local men 20 years ago.

The company said the new facility had created 20 jobs already and was expected to create 50 more in the next year.
