Birmingham John Lewis store will 'boost city economy'
John Lewis managing director Andy Street has said the firm's new Birmingham store will boost the city's economy.
He told the BBC the flagship shop, due to be based at the city's Grand Central shopping area at the revamped New Street station, will be a "catalyst for regeneration".
But some smaller independent retailers said they fear the store could damage their businesses.
BBC Midlands Today's Peter Plisner reports.
