Robber who targeted Kings Norton cash machine users jailed

A robber who targeted people outside a Birmingham cash machine has been jailed.

Craig Berrey threatened victims with a knife outside the Lloyds TSB ATM in The Green, Kings Norton, on three consecutive days at the start of April, police said.

The 37 year old, from Broadmead Court in Northampton, was found guilty of robbery, affray and attempted robbery and jailed for nine years and six months at Birmingham Crown Court.

Det Con Darran Ford from West Midlands Police said: "We are satisfied with the sentence which will protect others from becoming one of his victims.

"Although none of his victims were injured they were all extremely shaken after having a knife held to their throats."
