Homeless promise over NHS changes

Government reforms of the NHS in England have come into force this week, with GP-led groups taking control of local budgets and a new board, NHS England, overseeing the day-to-day running of services.

Primary care trusts were disbanded and local councils have been given back responsibility for public health issues. In Birmingham that has resulted in a promise for better care for the homeless.
