Reading researchers say weather hitting fruit and vegetables quality
Wet weather during the summer could mean British-grown fruit and vegetables are lacking in nutrition, University of Reading scientists have said.
Prof Mike Gooding said as a result the recommended five portions of fruit and vegetables each day may not be enough.
He said rain through the growing season can wash goodness out of the soil and prevent uptake of nutrients.
