Road rage murder: Lorry driver Mark Slater's 999 call released

A conversation between a lorry driver who murdered a motorist with his 17-tonne truck and a 999 call operator has been released by police.

Mark Slater, 47, from Oldham, deliberately drove over the head of grandfather Trevor Allen, 56, from Salford, in a road rage attack.

He was convicted of murder at Chester Crown Court on Tuesday.

In the call, made by another motorist after Slater drove over Mr Allen, he can be heard claiming not to know what condition his victim was in.
