Guy Martin beats world speed record on sledge made by Draycott firm

A Lincolnshire motorbike racer has beaten the world sledge speed record aboard a sled built in Derbyshire.

EPM Technology in Draycott, which manufactures components for Formula One cars, is now hoping to recruit more than 40 new skilled staff ahead of a move to bigger premises.

Managing director Graham Mulholland said the sledge was built from the same carbon fibre materials it uses for F1 vehicles.

Guy Martin from Kirmington reached more than 83mph (134km/h) aboard the sledge, while filming Channel 4 show Speed With Guy Martin.
