Rhododendrons make return at Chelsea
As exhibitors prepare for the Chelsea Flower Show, the unseasonal temperatures have been giving them an extra challenge.
Surrey grower David Millais, of Millais Nurseries, hopes to rekindle interest in a Victorian favourite - rhododendrons - but many have been late to flower this year.
Rosemary Hardy, of Hardy's Cottage Garden Plants in Hampshire, says the changeable weather has made it difficult to prepare for the event.
At both nurseries, staff grow three times as many plants as they need so they can pick the best specimens for the show.
