Should more be done to test older drivers?

Are older drivers a liability on the roads and should more be done to test their driving skills?

At present drivers aged 70 or over must reapply for their licence very three years, but this is a self-certifying system.

Some campaigners say the system needs to be made more robust, especially as Britain's population is getting older.

Jon Cuthill meets Julia Langdon whose elderly father from Hampshire was allowed to continue driving despite his failing eyesight and previous accidents.

BBC Inside Out South is broadcast on Monday 3, December on BBC One at 19:30 GMT and nationwide on iPlayer for seven days thereafter.
