Police statement on search of Sir Cliff Richard's home

South Yorkshire Police have confirmed that they are searching a property belonging to pop star Sir Cliff Richard in Berkshire in connection with an allegation of a sexual nature dating back to the 1980s.

No arrests have been made and Sir Cliff, who is out of the country, said the allegation was "completely false".

Detective Superintendent Matt Fenwick of South Yorkshire Police gave a statement on the search.
