The papers: Friday's front pages

The Independent's editor Amol Rajan and the journalist Susie Boniface, who is also known as the Fleet Street Fox, joined the BBC News Channel to review Friday's papers.

They began by discussing the Times's front page, which features shadow chancellor Ed Balls's admission that Labour made mistakes on the economy when in power.

The pair then moved on to the Guardian, which reports that the public sector pay settlement has resulted in Chancellor George Osborne being able to set aside £1bn for road and infrastructure projects, and the Daily Mirror which describes the settlement as a "betrayal" of NHS nurses.
