UK floods: Environment Agency under scrutiny

The staff of the Environment Agency are doing an "amazing job" on the ground in flooded areas, the prime minister has said.

Spending on flood defences in England and Wales will total £2.3bn in the four years up to 2015 - but the agency says budget cuts are forcing a loss of staff and expertise.

But in the wake of the worst floods in living memory, how much is spent on flood defences, and where, is under intense scrutiny.
