The papers: Thursday's front pages

Broadcaster Richard Madeley and Amol Rajan, editor of the Independent, cast their eyes over Thursday's papers for the BBC News Channel.

They began by discussing the story on many front pages based around Bank of England governor Mark Carney's "technical analysis" of the case for Scotland continuing to use sterling as its currency, should its people vote for independence.

They then moved on to the latest coverage of the floods in Somerset, where the Army is reported to have been summoned to help, and the Sun's front page suggesting that Conservatives are considering making the school day much longer.
