The papers: Friday's front pages

Caroline Daniel, editor of FT Weekend magazine, and the Daily Record's Westminster editor Torcuil Crichton joined the BBC News Channel to review Friday's front pages.

They began by discussing the Financial Times's lead story, suggesting that Bank of England governor Mark Carney was "ditching" his policy of issuing "forward guidance" on the actions of his monetary policy committee.

The pair then looked at Prime Minister David Cameron's suggestions, reported in the Times, that wages were rising faster than inflation, and the Daily Mail's front page alleging that doctors are discriminating against elderly patients when deciding who should be treated.
