The papers: Wednesday's front pages

Financial analyst Louise Cooper and Daily Express deputy editor Michael Booker reviewed Wednesday's front pages for the BBC News Channel.

They began by discussing the late-breaking reports that a US air force helicopter crashed in north Norfolk, before moving on to the Independent's front page story suggesting there had been an increase in racist bullying in schools.

The panellists also discussed the Daily Telegraph's lead, reporting that as many as half the people convicted of serious sex offences, burglary or violent crimes are being given community, rather than jail, sentences.
