Tidal surge causes destruction in eastern coastal towns

Thousands of people were evacuated from their homes as a precaution against flooding after the predicted tidal surge hit coastal towns in Britain.

A clear-up operation has been launched to fix the damage caused when flood defences were breached last night in Boston, Lincolnshire.
