Crossrail unveils first tunnel in London

Crossrail has completed its first train tunnel underneath London, running from Royal Oak, in west London to Farringdon, in the City.

Project Manager Andy Alder told BBC News that he and his team were proud of the achievement, and praised tunnelling machine Phyllis for her 4.3 mile (6.8 km), 18 month journey.
