Cancer payments: Terminally ill man on months of delays

A terminally ill man has told the BBC of feeling "degraded" after being handed a food bank voucher amid delays to his benefit payments.

Keith Boyd told Today that, after being diagnosed with terminal cancer, he filled in the appropriate forms, but for three months received nothing.

His story was highlighted by the charity Macmillan Cancer Support, who say patients are having to wait weeks, or even months, to have their payments processed.

The Department for Work and Pensions has raised questions over the robustness of the charity's statistics.
