What does it take to be a Fringe hit?

Radio 2 broadcaster Johnnie Walker is due to make his Edinburgh Festival debut with a 25-date interview show.

It all began in 1947 when a group of artists turned up uninvited to the Edinburgh International Festival and started hanging out on its "fringes".

Now the Fringe is one of the world's biggest arts festivals.

Radio veteran Johnnie Walker is performing for the first time, and Colin Paterson followed him as he prepared to take to the stage.
